Taplow

A firecrest paid a brief visit to the garden today.

I grabbed a shot through the window as it searched for food in the neighbour's cotoneaster - and then it was gone!

I trudged through Burnham Beeches and Egypt Woods for a good three hours, loitering with intent in various locations before finally seeing a lesser spot, moving with a tit flock through the tree-tops.

Just at that moment, a large black poodle came trotting along ahead of its owner and started to sniff at my rucksack (which was lying on the ground several metres away) the way that dogs do when they are about to cock a leg...

I salvaged the rucksack - but lost the woodie. Aaarghh....
