Dorney Wetlands

During a walk last night I looked in vain for chats. The grass is too long perhaps - haven't they usually cut it by now?

So it was a pleasant surprise when I scanned the flocks of lapwings and starlings on the Bucks field and got my bins got onto a wheatear - well camouflaged on this brown stony ground.

At least two chiffchaffs and a probable willow warbler were with long-tailed tits. A hobby came flying downstream feeding on insects as it flew.
