Battling the wind round the camp-site point, I spotted my first guillemot of the year far out on the loch. This was followed by a gull swooping over the water that looked too small for black-headed. I could hardly keep the bins or camera still, but a few shaky shots confirm this was a little gull.
My first bullfinch of the year was seen yesterday at Glascarnoch dam during a very short walk - and my first dipper on the River Broom, during an even shorter one! However, a fairly robust session with the physiotherapist revealed that not much damage had been done by the Great Fall at Rhue, and I'm walking almost normally again, so I can start to think about getting up a hill soon. Maybe.
